Our KS4 students are following the animal care ASDAN course and needed to complete a challenge element. The challenge they chose was to take part in activities to raise money for a national animal rescue organisation. After discussion, they decided to support The Greyhound Trust as this was a relatively unknown charity. Greyhound racing is a very popular sport but very few people are aware of what happens after the race and where the dogs end up. The Greyhound Trust use donations to help rehabilitate ex-racers for rehoming, vet costs and the running of their branches.
The week of activities included:
A cake sale
Wear grey for greyhounds
A movie morning.
We managed to raise a staggering amount of £90. Miss Young will be handing this over to the greyhound trust as soon as possible.
